The original model is really loud. You probably should have earplugs or something covering your earballs. I just made it more obnoxious by adding an 8mm sphere inside. It doesn't work quite as well as a cork sphere found in manufactured whistles, but this will still get the job done, and it doesn't cost $20.
UPDATE: One comment that my wife made (this was originally made/modded for her) is that you really have to blow hard to get that ball rolling. If you're printing a bunch of these, you may want to consider sourcing cork balls so you can pause the print before the top layers are printed and drop it in. It will be lighter. Also, I am investigating how to make the sphere hollow to achieve the same effect.
