The shelves on the Ikea Mandal headboard are surprisingly sturdy, but when my cats started using them as a springboard to jump onto the furniture it was time to design some support.
Just slide the support in from the side. It's a snug fit, as it should be.
Make sure you have sufficient space: Three free slots between the shelves.
I printed in plain PLA, 0.2mm layer height, 4 perimeters, 6 solid layers top and bottom, 15% infill
