Introduction
This is a two-piece boltless rack mounting adapter that creates strong M3 mounting points without drilling or permanent modification. It sandwiches the rack frame using brass inserts, providing a secure, reusable attachment for accessories and custom parts.
Build Instructions
Press or heat-set M3 brass inserts into the inner piece, place it behind the rack so the locating features align with the rack holes, then screw the outer piece on from the front using two M3 screws. The remaining two threaded holes can be used to mount accessories.
M3 Insert Dimension - Outer Diameter 4.5mm, Height 3mm
Printing Tips
Print in ABS or ASA for optimal durability, with at least 40% infill and 2mm walls around the insert areas. Print flat without supports and install inserts carefully to avoid overheating or deforming the part.
