D-PAD Riser for FunnyPlaying FPGBC

The issue with the D-PAD on the FunnyPlaying FPGBC is that it’s too sensitive. For example, when playing Tetris, pressing down can unintentionally move the tetromino left or right.
This problem isn’t limited to Tetris, but it’s especially noticeable in that game.

I found several D-PAD riser models that came close to solving the issue, but none fully fixed it.

This design is different. It’s based on multiple solutions and discussions found on Reddit, combined into one refined approach.

As far as I know, no one has created this exact solution before—so here it is.

Installation

Place this piece between the motherboard and the D-PAD membrane.

Printing recommendations

  • Material: Tough PLA / PLA+ or PETG

  • Layer height: 0.12 mm

  • Print with one layer only

  • Enable ironing for best results

Alternative method

You can also download the attached PDF and print it on a sticker.
If you have a piece of plastic that’s at least 0.12 mm thick, stick the print onto it and cut out the shape.
The PDF is scaled 1:1 (mm).

I also want to mention this model by Eric, who identified the correct spacing between the motherboard and the D-PAD:
