Extreme 3D Printer Stress Test: "The Overhang Gauntlet"
This model is a compact but brutal "torture test" designed to evaluate a 3D printer's cooling efficiency and mechanical stability. It combines several high-difficulty geometries into a single print to identify the breaking point of your current hardware settings.
Key Testing Features
Extreme Horizontal Bridging: The long cylinder connecting the two main bodies tests the printer's ability to extrude plastic across open air without drooping or snapping.
Steep Angular Overhangs: The angled cylinders test the limits of your cooling fan. These "unsupported" pillars require precise layer stacking to prevent curling or "spaghetti" textures.
Minimal Bed Contact: The left section of the model relies on a very small surface area (footprint) relative to its height and complexity, testing the printer's bed adhesion and the stability of the Z-axis.
Cylindrical Precision: The vertical and horizontal cylinders check for "ringing" (ghosting) and roundness, ensuring the X and Y belts are properly tensioned.
Suggested Print Settings
Supports: None (Printing with supports defeats the purpose of the test).
Infill: 15–20%.
Layer Height: 0.2mm (standard) or 0.1mm (for high-detail testing).
