The Cornholius wireless keyboard project started as a bluetooth drop-in replacement PCB for the Foostan Cornelius ergonomic custom keyboard. PCB sources and files to order both a fully assembled PCB as well as a FR4 switch plate can be found in my Github repository.

Huge thanks go out to Foostan who made this project if not possible at least a whole lot easier by releasing the PCB sources of the (wired only) stock PCB.

Since I had some left-over PCBs I decided to design my own case around them - that was how the Cornholius case was born. I have not tried printing this on FDM yet, but it should be pretty easily printable. My prototype was printed by jlcpcb MJF, and since it was designed for FDM it ended up heavily warped...

Keep in mind, these parts are fairly big and will not fit a regular mk4 or Core One - unless you have an XL, Core One L or similarly sized printer, you will have to print each part in two pieces and glue them together.

Hardware needed in addition to the 3D prints:

  • 8 o-rings (22mm ID, 26mm OD, 2mm diameter)

  • 9 heat inserts (M2, 3mm length, 3.5mm outer diameter)

  • 9 M2x10 cylinder head screws (I used ISO 14579)

  • Cornholius PCB (see github repo)

  • Optional: Cornholius Plate (see github repo if you want it FR4 and not printed)

  • HAC-006 battery (can be bought as Joycon spare/repair parts)

  • 48 MX style switches (ideally 5pin)

  • MX style keycaps
