I wanted a shelf to stick filament on in my garage, but only wanted to use *one* dowel. So I designed one.

Print these things and use a 1"/25mm diameter dowel, available at your favorite home improvement center. The filament rolls will lean on the wall behind the shelf, and the dowel. like magic. I only need one dowel! AMAZING!
The keen observer will note that I'm not using the middle support on my "shelf". This is true. I haven't attched it to the wall yet. And that's a 4 foot long dowel, so you might not really need it, cuz that's a whole boat load of filament, and it's holding up like a champ...
