22.jan - Updated parts to have correct orientation for printing. Pencil holder have updated hole pattern. Ballbearing rollers now have the head of the bolt inside the roller. Lower and upper main part now have heatinserts for the M5 bolts.
You will need:
8 pcs of 2.3x8 mm screws for combining upper and lower part.
2 pcs of M3x5.7 thread inserts, one for the pencil holder, bar part, and one for the upper main part.
1 pcs of M3x5x4 thread insert for the pencil holder, pencil part.
2 pcs of M5x9.5 thread inserts for the rollerbolts.
I have used thread inserts by CNC Kitchen.1 pcs of M3x5 set screw to lock the penholder to the bar.
2 pcs of M3x8 thumbscrew for easy release of pencil and adjust bar length.
4 pcs of 5x10x4mm ballbearings if you choose the ballbearing rollers.
2 pcs of M5x40mm bolts or 2 pcs of M5x35mm buttonhead bolt if you choose ballbearing type, as this have the buttonhead inside the roller
1 pcs of 8mm bar of some kind, I choose carbon bar from my local RC model shop. Length of your choice. 250mm/10" is a good length.
And one pencil or marker pen that fits the hole (9.4mm max diameter)
The following pencils are recommended:
-"Staedtler Noris Jumbo"
-"Faber-Castell Jumbo Grip"
-"Penol Jumbo"
Print all parts with 0.2 layer height, and 40% infill with your choice of plastic. No need for supports.
I have tested PLA, PETG and CPE with good results. on my printer ABS needed supports.
Choose one of the roller types, with or without ballbearings and print two. Ballbearing type will maybe need supports.
Put some drops of CA glue in between upper and lower part and screw them together.
Put in the heat inserts and mount the screws.
Mount the rollers.
Clean up the bar holes with 8mm drillbit to ensure the bar fits and slides properly.
