Simple holder for the four standard sizes of Soul Source dilators.
Inspired by a design by @delecti_246185.
I got tired of the random plastic tray I was using to hold mine and wanted something a little nicer that also saved some space on my crowded bedside table; found the design by delecti but wanted a little more refinement.
The design is based on the four pockets being tangent to the outer diameter and to each of their neighbors--instead of on a polar array. Because each pocket is sized to a different sized dilator, this gives a uniform shape to the ribs between pockets. The trade off is that the pockets aren't centered on the body of the stand so the footprint is a little uneven.
Design features
Pockets have a shallow draft at the top to make insertion easier.
Retention feature at the bottom of each pocket. Two styles are available:
Nub on the inner edge of the pocket
Dome on a bar across the center of the pocket
Easily fits inside 150 mm^3 printer volume.
No raft, brim or supports required.
Pocket diameters can be adjusted independently in the CAD model to customize fit.
NB: The model was designed in FreeCAD and uses variables for all critical dimensions. Please modify dimensions in the {} VarSet tree item to preserve design flexibility and feature-driven dimensions.
