Simple replacement stand for Tertial Lamp with broken bottom mounting part.

Usually despite being split in half the mounting rod will work more or less fine (except lamp will start sagging), but with time it might chew through the plastic and destroy original mounting base (and printed replacements...).

This model comes in two parts: mounting base, and sleeve.

Assembly tips

  1. sleeve and stand slot have protrusion that locks them together - it helps prevent pulling the lamp from base as we try to raise it.

  2. sleeve must be forcefully pushed into the slot - it should make a "click" and you should be able to rotate it.

  3. push the lamps broken bottom into the sleeve.

  4. NOTE:  Sleeve cut should be parrarel to the front of working area (ie. where your lamp hangs and the general direction it's usually dragged and adjusted):

FRONT

 Optimal direction to apply force.

  • sleeves can still brake after a while if the lamp brackets are tigthened to high reistance. This design tries to alleviate that. (print pararel to surface build didn't prove to bit that great either).

  • The default tolerance sleeve might be a bit tight in the beginning, but it extends sleeve lifetime.

Printing tips

  1. use robust and tough filament

  2. be mindful of the orientation. The layer lines ought to more or less point upwards - so as the lamp leans, the force direction should be perpendicular to the layer lines.

    1. if it's pararel the base might split near the bottom (above the hook we use to mount it to the desk) under the lamp weight.

  3. sleeve bottom has still 1cm space left which can be emptied by adding a cylinder “negative part” in the slicer.
