No tabs at the tops of the clamps to snag on neighboring hangers.  No metal springs to send sharp bits flying across the room when they break.  No thicker than other pants/skirt hangers with clamps like this.  The clamps can individually be replaced if they break or to change the strength of the grip.

I've only been using them for a few days so far, and mostly with light- and mid-weight shorts with the regular clamp, so I can't yet say how they'll hold up long-term.  I have provided an alternate version of the clamp that is generally stronger and should work better for larger and heavier items, but I haven't tested it myself.

Printing

No support or special settings are needed for printing the parts.  The longest possible hanger body is likely oriented diagonally across the build plate:

It's probably better to print the hanger in PETG, ABS, ASA, or some other material that is less likely to creep (PLA is probably a bad choice).

Assembly

  1. Print two of the spring clamps and remove the modeled-in support blocks (the three pieces shown in red below).  They can be pulled off with pliers or cut off if stuck.

  2. Before getting the clamps into their working shape, push the legs so that the crossing parts are overlapping and hold for about five seconds.  This will help the clamp stay aligned when you bend it into its working shape.

  3. Push the clamp legs so that the crossing parts are farther away and cross the legs over.

  4. Print the hanger body (the provided files are the largest possible body for some common build volume sizes).

  5. Snap the spring clamps into the rectangular cutouts in the body.  They can be snapped in from either side, but the hanger is likely a little easier to use if they're both on the same side (whichever side that is).
