Prusa CORE One – Sourdough Proof Box (25 °C / 12 h)

This G-code configures a Prusa CORE One as a controlled proofing chamber for sourdough and other long fermentations.

It is designed to hold the printer enclosure at approximately 25 °C for 12 hours, while ensuring the heated bed does not exceed 25 °C and the nozzle heater remains disabled.

What this G-code does

  • Homes the Z-axis and moves the bed to the lowest Z position

  • Disables the hotend heater

  • Sets the heated bed to 25 °C

  • Sets the chamber temperature target to 25 °C

  • Waits for the bed to reach temperature before starting the timer

  • Holds the environment for 12 hours

  • Automatically shuts down bed heating, chamber control, fans, and motors

Recommended usage

  • Place dough on a rack, tray, or wooden board

  • Do not place dough directly on the heated bed (like I did ;) )

  • Cover dough to prevent drying during long fermentation

Customization

You may safely edit the following values in the G-code:

  • Proof duration: G4 S43200 (time in seconds)

  • Bed temperature: M140 S25

  • Chamber temperature: M141 S25

Printer compatibility

  • Prusa CORE One

  • Not tested on other printers

Disclaimer / Food safety warning

This G-code repurposes a 3D printer, which is not a food-safe appliance.
The printer enclosure, build plate, and internal components are not designed for food contact and may contain residues from plastics, adhesives, lubricants, or other contaminants.

Use this G-code at your own risk.
Ensure that dough is fully covered and isolated from printer surfaces at all times.
Always monitor temperatures during the first run to confirm safe and expected behavior
