🦊 Onyx the Fox & His Osha Friend 🦋
Bring the magic of Callie Hart’s Fae & Alchemy series to your desk! This model captures the quiet, magical bond between Saeris’s loyal companion, Onyx, and his "Little Osha" butterfly friend.
✨ Why This Profile?
The Magnetic "Boop": Designed with precision-fit slots for magnets in both the fox's nose and the butterfly's body. They snap together for a perfect, gravity-defying pose!
Pre-Set Pauses: The Pause is already programmed into this slicer profile. The printer will stop automatically so you can drop your magnets in.
Real Texture: I used Fuzzy Skin on the Fox’s body to give it a realistic, tactile "winter fur" feel that looks incredible in Sunlu PLA 2.0.
Ethereal Butterfly: Osha is printed in Sunlu Transparent Blue to capture that shimmering, magical alchemy look.
🛠 Assembly & Post-Processing
Magnet Insertion: When the printer pauses, place your magnets into the designated cavities.
Note: Check your polarity! You want them to attract, not repel.
Tip: If your magnets feel loose, a tiny drop of superglue keeps them from shifting when the print resumes.
Support Removal: Both models require supports, but they are designed to be easily removed.
Pro-Tip: For Osha’s wings, use the tip of a hobby knife to gently pop the supports out of the wing texture/grooves to keep the detail sharp.
Wing Shaping: The butterfly prints flat. To get that realistic "V" shape seen in the photos, apply a tiny bit of heat (hair dryer or heat gun) to the center spine for a few seconds, fold gently, and hold until cool.
📐 Required Hardware
Magnets: You will need two $1.5mm \times 5mm$ round magnets.
