Overview

This is a precise calibration test designed to help you dial in the Flow Ratio (Extrusion Multiplier) for your filament. Achieving the perfect flow is the key to getting smooth top surfaces, strong structural integrity, and accurate dimensions.

This specific test covers a range from 0.93 to 1.09 with a 0.02 step, which is ideal for fine-tuning most filaments after a rough calibration.

How it works

The model consists of 9 tiles. Each tile is printed with a slightly different flow rate:

  • TopLeft: 0.93 (Under-extrusion)

  • Center: ~1.01 (Neutral/Baseline)

  • Bottom Right: 1.09 (Over-extrusion)

How to Evaluate

  1. Under-extrusion (Lower values): Look for visible gaps between the lines on the top surface or where the infill meets the perimeters.

  2. Over-extrusion (Higher values): Look for "plowing" (where the nozzle leaves ridges in the plastic) or rough, sharp edges on the top layer.

  3. The Sweet Spot: The perfect tile will have a completely smooth surface with no gaps and no plastic buildup.
