This is a XYcore table inspired by but not based on "bot of the cloth", I made it with drawing sewing patterns in mind and also potential use in 3D printing, but so far have just made a demo table, just need to add the electronics, ha, "just". You can make it much bigger than the demo I put together if you have a long enough length of GT2 belt and 8mm rod; either by clamping the corners to a table or using really long bits of T-slot. You need to add 2 motors a bunch of 608 bearings a couple of lmu8's and of course a microcontroller and motor drivers.

You could of course just hand turn it and remember the fun of an etcha-sketcher.

OpenSCAD notes

The parts are in XYCoreTable, the in_hardware module shows where all the parts go.

You also need these files in the same directory:
common_shapes; some trangles and stuff.
thread_calc & printer_settings give you the ability to make things a set number of threads wide using the standard rectangle+2semicircle model for thread_width and build_width calculations. You should combine this with setting the thread_width in your Slicer (print settings/Advanced in Sic3r)
rodsandholes - a set of functions to set the diameter and number of sides of a cylinder to be the correct internal or external diamiter for a rod or a hole
metric_sizes - a set of numbers which do holes for metric bolts and nuts..
LMU8, well, defines cutters and holders for LMU8's
cutters has lots of other cutters including a GT2 belt cutter, note to self, LMU8 should probably go in there too, but the principle says if its not broken then don't fix it.
