This is a simple flower planter. It consists of two parts, the actual planter and a driptray, which slide into each other. The slanted seam between the two parts acts as a design element. The planter is not touching the bottom of the driptray, and there is a ventilation opening, so there is no risk of root rot for plants that can not be in constant contact with water.
The model was designed in Fusion 360 and is (almost) fully parametric. All features are defined by 5 parameters (height, outer diameter, wall diameter, vent diameter, slanting angle) and can easily be customized by simply changing these values in the Parameters table if you want to customize it. The default has 90mm outer diameter, 90mm height, 4mm wall thickness, a 15mm diameter ventilation opening and 10° slanting angle of the mating surfaces.
I printed these in PETG on a Core One+. No supports are needed, the steepest overhang was limited to 45°. Make sure to use a reasonable wall + top surface layer count (3-4 should be okay) to avoid water leaking into the print. Ideally it should be printed with a filament that can take being submerged for an extended period of time, such as PETG or ABS. PLA will work, but gets brittle after a while.
I would suggest printing with Lightning infill - the additional strength of infill in the walls is not needed, but it shortens printing time a lot.
Update, 21.02.2026:
The lack of a rotational alignment pin on the initial design (now designated V1) was a bit of a nuisance when handling the planter. So I created an updated version (V2) which adds a small alignment pin. V1 planters can fit V2 driptrays, but the other way round they are not compatible!
Update, 29.03.2026:
I have added a sligthly slimmer and taller version of v2 with 80mm outer diameter, 100mm height, 4mm wall thickness, a 15mm diameter ventilation opening and 12.5° slanting angle. No new f3d was added, as it is still the same as the previous v2 upload - just different parameters. This version was printed successfully and works much better than v1.
