I needed a sturdy scoop that would hold about 350ml (1.5 cups) of garden soil for potting up some seedlings. I am certain there are many designs available but I wanted a fairly narrow shape. This is what I came up with. The handle prints separately and slides on to form a sturdy grip. It can be glued on or left as an option if you want. The tolerances in the joint between the handle and the bucket should allow for the handle to slide on or be removed but not fall off easily. When assembled it should easily be strong enough to dig around in a bag of potting mix without breaking.
I recommend printing at 0.2mm layer height with PETG or something stronger but suit yourself. Mine will likely be stored in a garden shed that can get quite warm so PLA didn't seem like the best choice. The default orientation for the STL files is the best for printing. If you have any doubts about bed adhesion use a brim.
