My nephew loves this thing and I decided to try my luck with Nomad3D Sculpting App.

This project marks a big milestone for me — it’s my first complete start-to-finish sculpt in over two years. From initial block-out to final surface refinement and print prep, I pushed myself to complete the full creative cycle instead of leaving it in the concept stage. It feels great to be back in the flow.

Inspiration & Reference

To stay true to the recognizable proportions and visual language of the Companion character, I used publicly available online images as reference while sculpting. This is not a scan or rip of any official model — it was built from scratch as a personal fan art tribute.

Personal Touch

This model was requested by my nephew, Christopher, who is a big fan of the character. As a small homage — and a nod to Toy Story — I placed his name subtly on the bottom of the shoe. It’s a reminder that toys (and art) carry stories and memories with them.

Design Note

  • Sculpted from scratch in Nomad Sculpt

  • Clean topology optimized for 3D printing

  • Balanced proportions for stable printing

  • Smooth surface finish with crisp character features

  • Name detail embossed on sole

Printing Suggestions

  • Print upright for best detail retention

  • 0.2mm layer height (or finer for display pieces)

  • Tree supports recommended if scaling larger

  • Works well in matte filaments for a collectible look

This piece represents a return to sculpting for me, a tribute to an iconic character, and a small personal project made meaningful by family. I hope you enjoy printing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
