We have a second dog living with us now and that dog had no problem with going into the pantry and taking a large MilkBone dog treat from the box on the floor. I designed this cover to stop the thievery and, so far, it's worked!
My Flashforge A5M Pro has a 220mm bed, so I designed this to be printed in two halves. The halves are attached with nuts and bolts. I forget the diameter I used but the any small diameter bolt at least 1 1/4 inches long will do the trick. I set the bolting surfaces so, alternatively, it could be glued. I went the bold route...
I tried to make this a flat print - hinges incorporated into the plane of the cover - but had a hard time getting something reliable. I went raised hinge.
The hinge portion of the front part is a separate print that slips/snaps onto the cover. I was challenged to find a good orientation to print the cover without supports and that was my solution. It fits snuggly and, with the door in place, has nowhere to go...
I also went with a printed hinge pin and lock washer that snaps on after the pin is in place. Low tech but it works.
I used PETG but, since there's no contact with food, I imagine PLA would be fine.
