This is a classical collection of mathematical pieces called Tetrahexes (meaning "4 hexagons").
There are 7 possible connected configurations of 4 hexagons.
You can play several games and puzzles with them, such as SEVEN or the puzzles that I provide in the attached PDF file.
The pieces have been arranged so they fit compactly in a triangular subgrid (which is a nice puzzle by itself).
