I've had a few CPU's spare just sitting around, and (finally) decided I'd better put them into something more robust & safe than the flimsy plastic clams they usually come in. Having searched online for something suitable, I didn't find anything to my particular liking (not that there aren't good designs out there, just not ones that I found to my particular needs) - so, I've designed these to suit, having other designs that would also go with this.
So far, I've only done these couple of socket variations (I've got more to do, with ones such as LGA1155, AM4, AM2-3+, and FMx). I just couldn't be bothered to thin the walls out on this (I figured it'd also add a bit more protection being thicker walls).
The trays deliberately use M3x4.5x4 heat inserts and 6mm (8mm MAX) flat-top screws to hold rubber bands... yes, I know they're rubber bands. That's what I've had on hand (and it works - until they perish). Made with a bit of room for using foam as a cushion to aid.
Feel free to give feedback / use / make a request... IF I can get to it in my spare time, I'll have a look at it.
For now, here's what is...
Edit (2026-03-19): Added STL / AMF files for LGA1155 (Socket H2) - no pics.
