This manual control moves the switch blades 3.5mm.  The example uses a rubber band for tensioning but should be replaces with an inexpensive spring for longevity.  The stiff (piano) wire is kept in place with a small screw under the “sled”.  I found that the hole for the wire needed to be drilled out to the correct size.  Tensioning the non sprung side is very simple: simply run the string double, tie it to itself and use the knurl knob to wind it up to the correct tension to move the switch into position.

Printed in PLA at .2 except the string clamp which I printed at .1.  Both the sled and the knob are printed with supports on the base plate.

I also included an idler pully from Punkgeek that I scaled down to work as a diverter for the string on several of my farther away turnouts.  https://www.printables.com/model/13883-customizable-idler-pully

Also, I got, scaled and modified a knurled knob from Deividas https://www.printables.com/model/35106-knurled-lcd-knob

For better quality I have printed the knurled knob separately and then glue it onto the "Knob-NoKnurl.
