Watch Mod for Casio LF20W

I really love the face of this Casio LF20W, but the body and watchband where not exactly my favorite. I applied my own interpretation of SciFi, CyberPunk, and Cassette Futurism to this watch mod.

Tools

Parts

NOTE: The length of TPU and number of band links used in the parts and instructions may be different than what you need to fit your wrist. Please mix and match the 3 band link sizes to get a good fit on your wrist.

Instructions

1) Prepare Casio Watch.

Remove the existing watch band, so that it can be inserted into the case.

2) Construct Watch Band Parts.

Using the Band Links, Clasps, TPU, and 4 of the screws.

NOTE: The orientation of the Links and Clasps is VERY IMPORTANT. They need to match the orientation seen in the instruction photos.

  • Thread the TPU through the clasp, half the band links, and one of the the Taper Band Links.

  • Screw the first of the two screws into the clasp, pinning the TPU inside of the clasp.

  • Loop the TPU through the second hole in the links, all the way back to the clasp.

  • Tighten the loop so the band starts to curl into a loop. This does not need to be under extreme tension. Needle Nose Pliers help in finishing this step.

  • Screw the second screw into clasp, pinning the TPU in a loop through the links.

  • Using Flush Cutters, trip all of the TPU exposed inside the clasp.

  • Repeat for the second half of the watch band.

NOTE: Pay attention to the Orientation the Taper Band Links, and the Clasps at the end - as well as the orientation of the Clasps - before moving on to the next step.

3) Attach Watch Band Parts to Watch Body.

Using Needle Nose Pliers, pull the exposed loop of TPU on the watch bands around the Watch Body. The watch band should now match a natural loop and the clasps should come together to lock.

4) Insert Casio LF20W body into Watch Case.

The watch will insert so that the button are oriented towards the 4 gaps on the side of the case body. This also determines how the clasp is oriented when closing, so check that before going to the next step.

5) Insert Buttons into Watch Case.

Each of the four buttons will slide into the gaps between the watch and the outer case. When done the buttons should be flush with the top of the case, that means the tabs that press against the watch buttons are facing down.

6) Attach Watch Face to Watch Case.

Using the last 4 M4 screws attach the face to the case and band.

7) You're All Done!

Enjoy your restyled Casio LF20W!!!
