The target was to create a tow trailer for Otto that can
remotely lower the loading ramp
hook up another Otto or another robot with wheels (not remotely yet)
remotely pull the other robot onto the trailer using a winch
remotely close the loading ramp
Achieved:
Moving ramp with rope, hook on a rope to pull any load (as long as it has wheels), manually
by turning the winch
To be completed if I get an HP Robots Kit
Control the winch for the loading ramp and the winch to pull the load with servo motors
remotely
Printing tips:
The trailer and the ramp are printed in place. After the print is finished, let the parts
cool down before removing them from the print plate.
Then gently move the ramp up and down to loosen the hinges.

The ramp is very lightweight and it might need some extra weight to lower the ramp when
releasing the rope. In my case, I added 3 thin magnets on the bottom of the
ramp.

Assembly:
Assembly of the trailer hook
2 pcs of self-threading screws ⌀ 2mm, not longer than 3mm, are required to mount the
hook on the HP Robots Otto. Otto has two screw holes on the bottom.

Assembly of the trailer
4 pcs of self-threading screws ⌀ 2mm, not longer than 3mm, are required to assemble the trailer.
Winches
Using the manual winches:
Screw the two winch brackets to the trailer body

Then insert the winch axis and push the rope roller on the winch axis. If too loose, use some glue to fix the rope roller to the winch axis.
Using the servos
Screw the servos to the same holes that would be used for the winch brackets
Then push the rope roller on the servo. As I do not have the real parts, the hole in the
rope roller will most certainly need some adjustment
Connect the ropes to the winches, ramp and hook
Use the holes in the rope rollers to attach a thin rope to both the winches

Then connect the other ramp side to the ramp

Make sure the rope goes through the small guide on the side of the trailer

Tie the other rope to the hook

Using the winches to move the ramp and the hook

Ready, now
it is time to create your application for the HP Robots Otto
