This project uses a single ruler design that is printed twice.
The two rulers are simply placed next to each other and moved relative to each other.
Each ruler has two sides:
Front: linear scale → addition / subtraction
Back: logarithmic scale → multiplication / division
The key idea:
The movement is the same – only the scale changes.
This model helps to visualize:
Addition ↔ linear scale
Multiplication ↔ logarithmic scaleand the relationship:
log(a · b) = log(a) + log(b)Printing notes
Print the same ruler twice
Engraved scales recommended (≈0.4–0.6 mm depth)
Fill engravings with a marker for better readability or (better) use filamant change
Notes
Educational model, not intended for high precision
