I've created a customizable proportional divider that has known scaling ratios and useful for both drawing and woodworking.
My proportional divider has pivot holes for the following scaling ratios:
1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8: Regular ratios
φ: Golden ratio
√2: Scaling drawings between metric paper sizes, converting between the sides and diagonals of squares
π, τ: Measuring circle circumference from radius/diameter
16:9, 2.39:1: Common video aspect ratios for animation
The hole pattern and general metrics of the divider is customizable using the included OpenSCAD script.
My divider also has serrated edges for better grip. The serrations also form a metric ruler.
The model is 32cm long. It was designed to fit diagonally on the 256x256mm build plate of my Bambu Lab A1.
Requires an M6 bolt and nut to hold the two sides together.
