READ BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DON'T TAKE ANYTHING OFF OF THE PRINTING PLATE, UNLESS EVERYTHING IS NOTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
The total weight comes to around 320 g with supports. The project uses a ball joint, universal joint and a worm gear system.
The project uses a ball joint, a universal joint and a worm gear mechanism. The length of the main shaft in the universal joint is 110 mm, the spring inside is 22mm long, and can be compressed to around 19 mm safely(at least I hope so). The module of grippy's gripping gears and the worm is 3mm, the gears have 24 teeth. The bevel gears have 10 teeth and have a module of 2.5mm. The project requires glue to be assembled PROPERLY.
Assembly:
Ball joint: You take the 4 ball joint looking parts, and you've got to grab 1 bottom and 1 top part in each hand, and slide them together. (marked in the FCStd file by the balljoint-xxx naming scheme)
Universal joint:
Two parts:universal-joint-rotation-xxxxxxx and universal-joint-2-xxxxxxx
universal-joint-rotation-xxxxxxx: take the parts under this class. Grab the main shaft, spot the cutout side. From the end slide in the spring, then the switchbottom and switchtop with the inner hole facing the spring(the spring should slide into it). After this put the proprietary pin through the cutout. and slide it in the hole on the top of the switchtop. After this slide the shaft in the skeleton with a cylinder on the end. After this, get the button and the button retention and put them on the end of the shaft(button first, and only after that the retention) The button's spikes should slide in the holes on the switchtop.
universal-joint-2-xxxxxxx: take the parts under this class. After this, get the button and put it on the skeleton with those cuts on the end.
Now pair these finished objects with the appropriate skeleton pairs and glue them together at the bottom. You'll also see those cuts in the middle of the shafts. The whole(holeless) sides should look outwards, and glue the two shafts together(if you're unsure what to do, just search up a universal joint)
grippy:locate the parts labeled with grippyxxxxxx
Get one of the skeletons, put in the the two gears with claws facing inwards. Locate the little hole on the bottom of the skeleton, and put in that short shaft with the bevel gear on it. After this get the main shaft with the worm on top, and play it in between the two gears. When you adjusted everything, and the bevel gears are touching put the leftover skeleton in it's place and glue the 2 skeletons together at the bottom.
After this assemble the whole model. Take the ball joint first, put the universal joint on top, and on top of the universal joint goes grippy.
I'll leave my assemblies as 3mfs, dont print those.
If you don't have a 250mm*250mm printer, don't worry. Take the parts from the print.FCStd file, and print as you could. That plate is just an optimised way for 62500mm² printers.
