This is a living project, meaning, I make improvements all the time. You will have access to all iterations of the case.

* This design is not complex at all, but any 3d printed assembly requires a well calibrated 3d printer!

** This case is specifically designed for the Aliexpress v1.3 PCBs. Other variants might work as well, but those have not been tested.

Highlights

  • Friction fit the case together, no extra parts needed!

  • Version-2 of the case holds together via friction or fasteners.

  • Buttons for the RP2040-zero.

  • Holes for the LED.

  • Minimal supports needed.

Bill of Materials if Fasteners are Used

v2.7 and under
v2.8
  • 14 x heatset inserts M2mm x L3.0mm x OD3.2mm

  • 10 x M2 Socket Head Cap Screw L10.0mm

  • 4 x M2 Socket Head Cap Screw L14.0mm (MCU area)

Print Settings

  • Any print settings will do really, but try to use the settings provided in the .3mf file.

  • Supports only needed for the top part, for the USB hole. The printed supports measure roughly 3 mm x 4 mm x 15 mm. If your printer is good at bridging, you don't need any supports!

Differences Between v1 and v2

  • v2 can hold together via friction or with fasteners (bolts + heatset inserts).

  • v2 is wider by ~5mm as well as in length.
