Ever got tired of kitchen utensils being everywhere or entangled in a stationary holder? I told myself to stop with it. After thinking of several mounting system, I realized - why not to use RIS rails? These are perfect for such application! And it would be sad not to share it with you!

System is fully modular. Currently, I'm presenting you three kitchen hangers:

  1. Standard 5mm wide hook

  2. More narrow 3mm hook with longer shaft

  3. "Utensils" grid to hold staff down by gravity

It works simply:

  • Pick whatever rail lenght you like - available in 100mm, 200mm and 300mm

  • Pick hook you want, can be all of them

    • Hooks are currently 25mm wide but you need some space between them, so sweet spot is 6 hooks for 200mm rail

  • Pick a suitable locking pin - version 1 is flush with the hook (but is tricky to get out) and version 2 has a little grip at the top to "quick reload" the hooks

Intended to be screwed down with 4mm screws but you can fit several types there, even a double-sided tape.

Feel free to remix the hangers as much as you like, it copies the structure of the rail and has a hole for the pin in the middle.

If you will stumble upon something you would like me to expand or model, let me know! As time goes, I will expand the library of compatible hooks.

Recommendations for printing:

  • Layer: 0.2mm

  • Perimeters: 3

  • Infill: 15% gyroid

  • Material: I used ASA but any will work, depending on your use case

  • Supports under the hook and the "pin" hole
