This model is actually two things:
a fully-parameterized OpenSCAD package for modeling soft vise jaw pads that can be stretched and applied to any vise.
STL object files that will work for many situations, for users who would rather not customize and model their own in OpenSCAD. These can be downloaded and printed as one would with any model.
Available customizations:
jaw width -- suggest using a value a few mm less than actual jaw measurement, to provide a nice snug fit. Even less if your material is extremely stretchy.
jaw height
pad thickness
top pad length
fitment depth
Customization Procedure:
Ensure that you have downloaded vise-pads-parametric.scad.
Open that file in OpenSCAD, and edit the configuration section at the top to your taste. Once satisfied
with your configuration, preview in OpenSCAD, and ensure that your customized unit meets your requirements. Render the object, export to STL, and print as normal.
Printing Instructions:
Orientation: Best printed in the modeled orientation.
Filament: TPU or other flexible material.
Infill: To taste, depending on how "soft" the user wishes the pads to be, and how much "squish" they require around clamped objects. 10% gyroid works for my usage.
Walls: 2 is fine.
Support: None required.
Installation:
Stretch each pad over your vise's jaw. Pads will compress and deform around clamped objects, so no pattern is necessary on the faces.
