Design Concept
The design of this stretchable caterpillar toy is inspired by classic children's educational toys. It aims to stimulate children's creativity and hands-on abilities through vibrant colors and movable features.
Purpose
The stretchable caterpillar is suitable for early childhood education, helping to improve infants' and toddlers' hand coordination and sensory development. It is ideal for use as a teaching aid at home or in kindergarten.
Printing Recommendations
It is recommended to use a multi-color 3D printer with PLA or ABS material. A layer height of 0.2mm is suggested to ensure a smooth appearance.
Assembly Instructions
The model consists of three parts: the head, the tail, and the body segments. A rubber band is required as a connector in the middle to ensure the caterpillar's elastic movement.
To assemble: first, insert one end of the rubber band into one of the pins and tie a knot (or multiple knots) to secure it. Then, thread the rubber band through the body segments. Next, pass the other end of the rubber band through the second pin and tie a knot to secure it as well.
When threading the components, a thin string can be used as an aid: wrap the thin string around the rubber band, pull it through the ball-shaped segments, and use the string to guide the rubber band out.
Finally, attach the caterpillar's head and tail onto the pins to complete the assembly.
