It is often convenient to remove the sides. These clips make it easy.
The sides are held on by six screws on the outside along the front and back edges, and one screw on the inside near the handle.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT try to lift the printer by the handles when using only the clips to hold the sides on.
The clips are held in place with a screw the passes through the molded ribs. To locate the hole hold the side in place and slip the clip over the rib such that the clip holds on to the steel frame then use a 2mm drill bit make a mark on the rib. The hole needs to be 3mm or 4mm. The side plastic is so soft you can drill the hole just twisting the bit in your fingers.
I used 3M brass inserts, but you could use a nut with a longer bolt.
