I have been making a project in which I can turn linear movement into mechanical movement just like piston and crankshaft. I have kept the printable size small, have used 2 spur gears; 1 with 24 teeth and other with 12 teeth. To convert it into linear motion I created a small upward projection in big spur gear and attached an arm which will be allowed only to move back and forth. I had made a similar mechanism in hydraulic crane but it's my first time designing any 3d model. I had the most trouble while extruding in the project but am happy that eventually it worked. Still working on the project. I am also planning to add a planetary gear mechanism in my project. (I verified my identity later in hack club, so I am putting 6-time lapse made between April 9 -15 at once, sorry for that!)
