Print with supports on buildplate, the auto-generated one in prusa slicer is fine. Probably neither layer height nor infill dependent (to a certain extent).
I've printed one of these in PLA and used it for years on a bike with Shimano GRX FD-RX400 derailleur + GRX FC-RX600-2 46/30T crankset, it's still holding up and I have had no issues with pants getting caught, despite minimal vertical protection over the chain. Disclaimer: it rarely gets above 25 degrees C where I live. If you're going to be in a more sunny climate I would consider PETG or more temperature stable materials.
Fasten using 4 zip ties. It can be a bit finicky to fit them in there. It does not sit 100% centered for me, but protrudes more over the area of the chainwheel that is directly opposite of the crank + pedal. This bothered me initially during first mount, but has since not been a thing I've been thinking of until writing this description. Last image
The pictures with white background has the original model in pink, and the new model in green. As you see, minimal edits and thanks to s6monts for the model.
