I wanted to share my finished make of the Victrola Lid Key originally modeled by DispenserOfTheCubes.

I first found the STL back in early 2025 and spent well over a year working with it on and off. I tried printing it myself in PETG, PLA-CF, and PETG-CF, along with a lot of slicer adjustments, but none of my printed versions held up the way I needed them to.

Eventually, this project pushed me to get better with CAD. I rebuilt the original STL into a STEP file, which became a major learning moment for me. From there, I had the part professionally printed in stainless steel 316L through a metal 3D printing service.

The finished key came out beautifully. It fits, it feels solid, and it finally gives this Victrola lid key the strength it needed.

Huge thanks to DispenserOfTheCubes for sharing the original model. Their file was accurate enough to make this whole journey possible, and I’m grateful for the work they put into it.
