I designed these jigs to help build 14 pin and 20 pin Ribbon Cables with IDC connectors. The main idea of the jigs is to hole the parts square so you can assemble them properly before crimping them closed with a proper tool. The jigs allow use of Keyed connectors and if printed in multi-color (filament swap @ certain heights) show a line to remind you of pin1/wire1 on the ribbon cable.
There are Jigs for 20 Pin and 14 Pin wires, and also includes a short 20-pin jig to keep handy.
For reference; I use p/n AWG28-14/G/300 14 wire ribbon cable, and p/n AWP 14-8240-T IDC connectors. You can find any other size using these as a starting place. These are available at most electronic parts wholesalers like Digikey & Mouser.
The crimping tool is a Pro'sKit 6PK-214. If you buy it, stick some magnets under the yellow form to hold it to the jaws. You're welcome.
