Solving the problem of "I just want a cheap line-crossed sensor". Works well in practice, you really have go past the front center line to be noticed by the sensor. The cover fits tightly, so you don't need to use glue to keep it on, but it's still easy to remove if you want to.

Since this a U-shaped cover, you never see the inside of it. So print it with the inside facing down, this will make every visible part nice and smooth, while all ugliness will be confined to the side you never see after installing on the sensor. I had the best result with a Snug support, but the Organic type should be easy to remove as well.
How I Designed This
You can find the CAD model in Onshape. I went for an okay-looking but not overly detailed cover, so while it has chamfers and some fillets, the inside of the cover is very rudimentary. Printing a single piece took about 15 mins, and I went through 4 versions before I was happy with the result in every aspect. Feel free to refine further if you want!
