I built Estes rockets when I was young. Recently I designed and 3D printed half-scale versions of all the rocket I had. I decided to add a display of the A, B, C, and D engines including a cut-away. The nameplate is printed separately so the letters can be easily printed in a contrasting color. The sections of the cut-away can be any color of your choosing, though I used red for the propellant, yellow for the delay, and blue for the ejection. The engine casing was printed in wood, as it is actually made of cardboard. The nozzle and retainers were printed in gray, as those parts were made of clay. The circular retainers are glued into their respective engine sizes. The spacer is used to position the stack of engine sections that are also glued in.
