Assembly Instructions

This enclosure consists of three 3D-printed parts designed to encapsulate an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor in acrylic casting resin for improved durability and water resistance.

Parts

  • Part A — Baseplate

  • Part B — Front plate

  • Part C — Back plate

  • HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor

  • CA glue (cyanoacrylate adhesive)

  • Acrylic casting resin

Assembly Steps

  1. Insert the HC-SR04

    • Place the HC-SR04 module into the matching slot in the baseplate (Part A).

    • Ensure the sensor sits flush and the transducers align correctly with the front opening.

  2. Attach the Front Plate

    • Position the front plate (Part B) onto the baseplate.

    • Fix it in place using small amounts of CA glue along the contact edges.

    • Allow the adhesive to fully cure before proceeding.

  3. Install the Back Plate

    • Feed the sensor wires through the opening in the back plate (Part C).

    • Carefully position the back plate onto the enclosure.

    • Glue it into place using CA glue.

  4. Seal the Enclosure

    • Apply additional CA glue along all seams and joints.

    • Ensure all gaps are sealed to improve water resistance and prevent resin leakage.

  5. Fill with Acrylic Resin

    • Prepare the acrylic casting resin according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

    • Slowly fill the enclosure to avoid trapping air bubbles.

    • Allow the resin to fully cure before use.

Done and installed.
