Yet another dock for the new Steam controller...
This prints without any supports. The cable routes up from below the stand and then the puck can be slid down into the recess which has a slight wraparound to hold the puck in place. The cable can then be routed out the back of the stand.
This stand is designed to allow one-handed removal of the controller by placing your thumb above or below the Quick Access button and your middle finger pressing down on the top of the puck (not on the cable). Then the controller can be pulled forward with your index finger.
I like to use double-sided tape to apply non-slip matting to the bottom of the stand.
I have added a hollow version of the stand with a bottom plate that can also be used as an accent color. The base engages with a dovetail-like feature in the front of the stand and then snaps in at the back. Two of the snap-pins ensure that the base stays in place. The hollow version still prints well without supports.
If printing in ABS, I use a 100.7% X/Y scale factor to account for material shrinkage. But different printers and filament brands might require testing/fine tuning.
