Model to print a replacement platen knob for a Blickensderfer typewriter. This type of knob for 5, 6 and Featherweight models.
Part is designed to take a hex-nut. To fit on original platen rod, a UNF 8-36 hex-nut can be pressed in and fixed in-place. In case of a new, replacement platen with an M4 rod, a variant for an M4 hex-nut also provided. Use a small drop of glue (e.g. cyanoacrylate) to fix the nut in the knob.
Print with a very small layer-height. Enable supports (tree) and set the threshold to e.g. 20 degrees, to avoid having supports inside the central hole.
Use a few iterations of painting and sanding to make a smooth surface that mimics the original.
