General Information

  • Two available sizes

  • Sliding Lid

  • Acrylic viewing window

  • Two screw holes for wall mounting (works with most common screws like "SPAX")

  • e.g. for filament residues or failed prints (see pictures)

.f3d files

There are also the Autodesk Fusion files for the two lid sizes available so you can customize them with your own text or sing.

Assembly

You need a 60mm x 119mm acrylic sheet for the big box and a 60mm x 44mm acrylic sheet for the small box. I used 2.5mm thick glass but the thickness does not matter here. Simply glue the sheet e.g. with a hot glue gun in the designated frame.

Printing Instructions

General:

  • Material: I used PETG, but actually it does not matter

  • Supports: You only need supports inside the guide rail for the lid

  • Brim: I used the brim as a preventive measure against warping, but it is not a must

Color changing (Prusa Slicer without MMU):

If you want the text on the lid to be a different color, make sure not to print the box body at the same time; otherwise, the color of the box will change too. Move the slide on the right-hand-side to the first layer of the text and click the plus sign. This will add a color change. The layer in the slicer should now change color, but the color is randomly assigned and will not be the final color. The 3D printer will stop before beginning the first text layer and prompt you to change the filament. I do not recommend mixing different materials due to their different physical properties. You can find the official guide here: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/color-change_1687

Note: The pictures show the older version of the big box, but it still works the same.
