I decided to make an e-steps ruler for calculating e-steps in accordance with Teaching Tech's Github page. Place the end without the notch at the extruder and then use a sharpie to mark the filament at the notch.
I printed it in PLA at 0.15 mm with a 0.6mm nozzle. If you have a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm should work fine.
