This project provides an automated feeding and watering solution designed for poultry housing. The system features two wall-mounted dispensers—an automatic corn feeder and a drinking water dispenser—both accessible from outside the chicken house through rectangular openings in a 15mm-thick wall.

Automatic Feeder

Design Overview

The feeder consists of two components:

  • Main Compartment: Gravity-fed tank holding approximately 1.5 kg of dry feed

  • Removable Lid: Provides access for refilling

Feed flows automatically into the dish via gravity-assisted discharge, facilitated by steep internal walls that prevent bridging.

Installation Instructions
  1. Cut a 150 mm × 110 mm (width × height) rectangular opening in the wall

  2. Position the opening 8–10 cm above floor level

  3. Install structural support behind the opening to bear the weight when filled

  4. Attach mounting hooks inside/outside the wall for a securing string or wire

Water Dispenser

Operating Principle

This vacuum-seal system operates on atmospheric pressure differentials:

  • Water levels in the dish create a seal preventing air from entering the bottle

  • When the water level drops below the hose outlet, air enters the bottle

  • This equalizes pressure, releasing additional water into the dish

  • Cycle repeats as chickens drink

Design Components
  • Water Dish: Receives dispensed water

  • Bottle Holder: Wall-mounted component securing the reservoir
