I recently bought a ceiling fan / light that uses a remote as it's primary (only) controller. It was annoying to enter a dark room to find the remote so I wanted a holder. I also wanted to mount it over the existing light switch so it was accessible when I went to vacation to turn off power entirely.
Some notes: You will find a standard size (2.75" x 4.5") and a larger size (3.2" x 5") option.
The bottom screw it a bit of a pain to get lined up. I used a magnetized mini screwdriver to get it aligned with the hole. Then the front pass-through hole was used to screw it in. I could have made the pass-through hole larger, but I didn't want to.
Mine was printed in PETG with a vertical orientation. No supports are required. (I used chamfers rather than the "normal" fillet).
I made the part in Inventor, and the ipt files are available if you want to change the sizes. I recommend using the Larger size for remixing, as it dimensions the depth of the holder, as opposed to the standard size with using a colinear constraint.
Yes... I did clean off that disgusting toggle after I saw it in the photo!
