A modular dish drying rack designed for drying and organizing plates, mugs, and other kitchen utensils.

The design is built around a 15×15 mm aluminum extrusion and allows the overall length of the rack to be customized to fit different kitchen spaces. The number of plate slots depends on the selected rack length.

Features
  • Modular design.

  • Adjustable height between levels.

  • Adjustable overall length.

  • Suitable for plates, mugs, and various kitchen utensils.

  • Rigid construction based on a 15×15 mm aluminum extrusion.

  • Easily adaptable to different kitchen layouts.

Dimensions
  • Width: 262 mm

  • Length: adjustable in 30 mm increments

  • Length adjustment is achieved by cutting the aluminum extrusion to the required size.

  • The number of plate sections depends on the selected rack length.

Required Hardware

1. Aluminum Extrusion

Use a 15×15 mm aluminum extrusion matching the supplied profile drawing or a very similar profile.

Length Calculation Example

As a reference, you can use the configuration designed for 12 plates.

This version requires:

  • 2 pieces of 15×15 mm aluminum extrusion, 400 mm long

  • 4 pieces of 15×15 mm aluminum extrusion, 365 mm long

The dimensions above do not include the vertical support posts.

As the overall length of the rack changes, the number of plate slots changes accordingly. The rack length can be adjusted in 30 mm increments by using longer or shorter 15×15 mm aluminum extrusions, allowing the design to be customized for different capacities and available space.

2. Fasteners
  • M2.5×6 bolts — 10 pcs

  • M2.5 nuts — 10 pcs

3. Water Trays
  • Width: 200–225 mm

  • Length: depends on the chosen rack size

  • Quantity: 2 pcs

Printing Recommendations
  • Recommended materials: PETG, ASA, or other moisture-resistant filaments.

  • PLA can be used, but PETG is recommended for long-term use in humid environments.

  • Use at least 3–4 perimeters for improved strength.

  • 20–30% infill is recommended.

Notes

  • Designed for drying and organizing cutlery and kitchen utensils.

  • For best results, periodically empty and clean the water tray.

  • Food-safe printing depends on your filament, printer, and post-processing methods.

  • Make sure all fasteners are securely tightened before use.
