Design Requirements

This model was created as I was struggling to find a can holder that would fit on my canoe for a trip I was going on.  It needed to be strong, easy to move around the boat, and hold a can fairly well.

First Impressions

As it was a bit last minute there are probably some improvements to be made, but it worked.  I printed 3 with out any test prints. They fit together and all survived the trip even with a few paddle strikes and tippy canoes.

Printing

I added extra perimeters with fairly high infill for strength, but I would recommend you adjust based on how you plan on using it.

No supports are required.

Assembly

The hanger attachment mechanism is a tapered dovetail joint so no glue is required, just press together firmly and it should hold.

It might not fully slide down the dovetail, but as long as you compress it enough I don't think it will easily come apart. The free cad file could be adjusted if you want it to fit perfectly, but it could take a couple iterations to get it just right.

Thanks to NeedItMakeIt on YouTube for this inspiration.

Customization

I've included the FreeCAD file in case you want to make a custom hanger or any adjustments.  If you are good at FreeCAD and have a better way to make the dovetail please leave a comment.

Happy Printing!
