Got a broken rubber band? Got a rubber band that you just need to be a bit shorter? Have a little extra room for a very simple and cheap print?
No bells and whistles on this design: it's very simple, straightforward, utilitarian, and every other buzzword that means the same thing. Print it with bog-standard settings and have the solution to your problem in minutes. Simply pull it off the printer, feed the rubber band (or the ends of a broken rubber band) through the rectangular hoop, and then press the wedge into place. It's that easy.
Only caveat is that wedge is best placed opposite the side you are using so that the rubber band will pull it deeper into the hoop. But hey, if it works for your application the other way, go for it!
Final note of advice: if you find that anything is poorly size for your specific rubber band, most slicers allow you to scale prints, and this design is so simple that scaling works great. With many slicers you can even scale models in isolated axes, which means that you make the hoop and wedge longer, wider, or thicker independent of any other dimensions.
Updated Version:
Added a Wedge with a sharper angle on it which may be useful for thicker Rubber Bands if you don't want to reprint a larger scale ring
