For my cargo bike, I had to install a new sprocket on the rear wheel. This sprocket has to be secured on the Enviolo freewheel, with a lockring tightened at a torque of 35 - 45 Nm. I did not have this tool on hand, and it would be a one-time use. I decided to print one that I could mount via a 1/2 " M21 double hex to my torque wrench: 12 contact points would be better than just 4.
A prior prototype I tested (100% infill, ASA) broke at 41 Nm (layer shear at torque wrench side), so I increased the amount of material around the center hole. The second version survived 40 Nm during the install. I designed a dummy lockring to mount onto a block of wood, so the adapter could be tested for durability.
The lockring adapter is slightly oversized: 41.5 mm instead of 41 mm. I couldn't get the 41 mm design to fit. When using this adapter, be careful. 40 Nm is a lot if it really shears. The adapter is good for a few uses, because the metal lockring will eventually wear out the plastic.
Print settings:
100% infill
ASA or PETG
Enable supports (I used tree supports)
Brim (to prevent ASA warping)
Printed this on a Bambu Lab X1C with white eSUN ASA.
