Standard mesh sieves trap mealworm larvae in the square openings — they get stuck and won't fall through. This parametric tower solves that with 45° rotating slotted holes designed specifically for Tenebrio molitor grading. Stack multiple layers to sort by size.

Features:

  • Three sieve presets: 1.0mm, 1.8mm, 2.5mm slot widths

  • 45° rotated slots prevent larvae from getting stuck

  • Stacking rings with tolerances — no tools, no threaded joints

  • Gravity-fed: pour from the top, each layer retains a different fraction

  • Lid with 0.8mm ventilation holes + solid collection base

  • All parameters adjustable via OpenSCAD Customizer

What you get:

  • sieve.scad — parametric sieve module (customizer presets in sieve.json)

  • lid.scad — ventilated cover

  • base.scad — collection tray

  • assembly.scad — preview all layers stacked

  • Pre-exported STLs for each preset and part

Printing tips:

  • Sieve frames: PETG (food-safe, durable)

  • Lid & base: PLA is fine

  • No supports needed

  • 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height
